    Intelligence is knowing that tomatoes are fruit in the botanical sense, which has no bearing on how they are used in the kitchen and ignores the fact that “vegetable,” for instance, doesn’t mean anything botanically and so maybe we shouldn’t be using botanical terms in the kitchen and going “akshually, tomatoes are a fruit” doesn’t make you sound smart, it just makes you sound like a smarmy pedant.

      I’d normally agree with you, but I imagine in a hypothetical world where food can be 3d printed and one of the filament types was fruit, it’d be pretty important to know whether or not tomato is a fruit if you’re planning on making a pizza.
