As always, stay tuned here on !comicstrips@lemmy.world for a slow trickle out of Jucika comics, but if you want to find more, here’s a good post with a large collection that /u/JohnnyEnzyme@piefed.social posted last year: https://piefed.social/post/1258520
**Also, check out some Jucika fan art! https://piefed.social/c/eurographicnovels/p/2128207/the-best-of-jucika-fan-art-12-pieces-with-two-videos
Good timing for me, because I put on a new pair of socks this morning and looked exactly like Jucika 5 seconds later.
BTW this used to be a rather popular type of flooring. Whenever I entered a flat like that, it was screaming ‘sixties’ from everywhere. I’m not sure whether it was the same in other countries, but this seemed to be the go-to flooring type, unless they opted for the cheaper PVC (?) solution.
It still is?
It definitely still exists, maybe even popular. It might be just my subjective observation, but it feels like it used to be (even) more popular.
It’s only less popular nowadays because wood has gotten so expensive. A decent wooden floor costs a small fortune (or possibly a medium one).
all of these are gold, seriously. this is my favorite comic that gets posted.
edit: I haven’t done this until now but I just wiki’d Pál Pusztai. I’m so sad that this guy basically died in 1970 and now his comic is extremely popular internationally. for the life of the comic it never really left Hungary until wayyyyy after his death. and now is super beloved by everyone.
i honestly might never have found out about it if it weren’t for this instance. so thank you very much. <3

I’m happy to keep posting these until I run out or people get tired of them.
Nope keep posting them. I enjoy seeing them!
I may be slow today. I don’t get it. Can someone explain please?
She varnished the wood floor, then slipped because of how slick it was, so her solution was to dirty it up again for traction.
Ah, my dumbass didn’t zoom in enough. I thought she was vacuuming carpet, and somehow managed to slip on it. That’s why the rest didn’t make sense to me.
Damn. Thanks. I thought someone casted a spell to steal her vacuum and slipped her and somehow changed her clothes been panel 1 and 2.
Ok, then I did understand it, but it still doesn’t make sense because that’s not how dirt works.
I think she’s salting it like you would icy roads.
thatsTheJoke?
I didn’t get it either but best conclusion I came to is that she cleaned up the house, polished the floors. Then later she slipped on the clean floor, so she dumps dirt on the floor to give it texture and grip again.
Which is not really how dirt works… hopefully someone has a better explanation lol.
No, you got it. Cleaned and polished the floor so good it became slippery, so she undid her work a bit, redirtying it for traction.
Maybe dirt works differently in Hungary?
She is spreading sand, a common technique to increase traction.
Pshh, to be fair you need a pretty high IQ to understand Jucika. Next time stick to reading Garfield pal.
It’s not really varnishing, it’s more floor polishing :)
