Once again being an RN is a 4 year degree. Are you thinking of LPN? Internships are usually the last year of the program.

Why are you fishing for a further argument on a day’s old post? That’s kinda weird dude.

You already responded to this comment yesterday. Forget to switch the the alt?

I know a day may seem long if all you know is TikTok and instant gratification, but it really isn’t. If that is your frame of reference then obviously a few months may seem like an eternity. I think I get it now….

Also it’s an argument worth making.

And it’s weirder to make a comment and delete it, like you did.

Yep this is why I deleted to disengage last time. I knew it wasn’t worth it, rude and weird.

Nah, seems more like you realized your arguments weren’t going anywhere.

But sure, after all your logical fallacies the obvious next step is personal attacks.

I know RN is a total of 4 years, but it’s simply not true that Clinicals usually only start in the last year. Maybe in the past, but nowadays it starts a lot sooner.

Depending on the nursing program—whether ADN, BSN, or accelerated—clinicals may begin as early as the first semester or as late as the second year.

Also check out this Reddit post.

And that still doesn’t disprove what I said about the availability of nursing jobs. I’m getting a bit tired of this moving of the goal posts.

Nursing school is incredibly difficult both to get into and to complete. There may be a lot of nursing jobs available in your area for this very reason.

You are both missing the point. It’s not about nursing specifically. It’s about the fact that there are plenty of jobs that contribute something to society if you’re willing, whether it’s nursing or teaching, or something very different. Nursing is just one example and I’ve already spent too much time on it, since it’s not the point.

It’s easy to complain about how hard something is and only a little less easy to make a change. But people don’t want a little less easy. I was just calling that out, but that message obviously doesn’t earn you any points on Lemmy, QED, but it’s no less true.

It doesn’t matter how willing you are. Nursing schools do not accept just any willing person. When it comes to actually doing the job… it takes a whole lot more than just being willing. The average person CANNOT be a nurse. It’s just a very tone deaf and unrealistic thing to suggest.

It’s easy to complain about how hard something is and only a little less easy to make a change.

Intelligence and emotional ability are not the result of willpower. It’s actually more comparable to being athletic or physically strong. Sure, most people can improve their physical health, but there is a threshold for how strong you’re capable of becoming, determined by genetics and lifestyle. Intelligence and emotional capacity are the same. It’s sort of like you showed open positions for being a bodybuilder or an MMA fighter and then said “see? there are plenty of jobs.” This makes no real-world sense.

Then find entry level fast food jobs and use those as an example. Still really difficult to get those jobs, but it would at least make a small amount of sense.

Why would I? I’ve already made my point.

And fast food jobs aren’t even beneficial to society. I don’t think I’m the one not making sense…

The point is that people simply like to virtue signal how they would love to work a meaningful job, but they really don’t. That’s why they tell themselves it would be so hard when it really isn’t. If they would really want to be meaningful with their job they would put in the minimum amount of effort to find that job.
