Technology@lemmy.world•Scientists uncovered the nutrients bees were missing — Colonies surged 15-foldEnglish
9·11 days agoYes well known fact we shouldn’t research any technology to reverse the collapse of our biosphere or to alleviate climate change. Wouldn’t want anyone being able to sell that tech. Best we just turn off the lights and plant some flowers.
I love planting some flowers, but we’re going to need technology to undo the mess we created.
So we only have another 994 years to go?
I decided 2020 would be a good start date, but if we wanted to go back to 2016 I wouldn’t argue
Similar story, but the way our vet explained it is they removed the penis entirely and rerouted the urethra and widened the opening. He pees like a girl cat now basically.
Maybe we’re explaining the same surgery, but our vets explained it differently to us
We had the vet remove our cat’s penis. Problem solved.
And to be fair it was the vet’s idea

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•a girl can never be hyperfeminine/sexual, chaotic, unfiltered online without ulterior motives allegations
2·25 days agoHahaha this guy thinks cold weather causes colds
The only way to 100% prevent colds is to be around other people as little as possible. If you chose to be around people you choose to get colds.
Sounds ridiculous, but that’s the logic you’ve used

6·25 days agoConsequences is just a wild thing to say.
When I get a cold no one jumps on my shit for having to live with the consequences of going outside. They say sorry to hear you’re sick feel better

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•I just want juice, is that so much to ask?English
16·1 month agoDisagree, I was able to find the local grocery store’s store branded 100% fruit juice in cranberry, apple, grape, and pomegranate. It’s just a regular grocery store too.
They even had the welch’s 100% juice varieties.
Now that being said I had to pay real close attention to the labels to select the right juice, but the good stuff is still out there

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•there is a special place in hell for these scientists
18·1 month agoYou know this isn’t even the weirdest flirting I’ve seen online today. It’s a notable thread, but not too bad.
Enjoy the shocks
I’d say the majority of the population can do that, mostly it’s a class filter. Need money to go to school or massive debt.
A series of pipes and tubes mostly
“Well technically” is not a convincing or relevant arguement. Bugs are animals too. They don’t get human rights
If I recall that was just electronics no?
Like we’ve seen them use fire at hogwarts. Simple chemical reactions still occur. That’s all a gun is, a spark, gunpowder, and a tube. Frankly this is just potions class
That’s what they said.
I think it’s a bad faith arguement to equate human enslavement to cattle production. Yet here we are
You are right it is a newer adaptation, but one that was clearly advantageous to our species. There are not many evolutionary changes that occurred independently in 3-5 different populations.
So according to you slaves are animals, neat
Yes scavenging for meat is generally considered a very important part of human evolution. Our stomachs are particularly acidic when compared to other great apes. This is believed to have evolved due to a high consumption of scavenged meats.
You are right though plants generally did form a large portion of our and our ancestors diets.
Important to note that as our brain size increased it did correlate with increased meat consumption as well. This all goes into calorie densities, available nutrients, and evolutionary pressures.
Humans evolved to proccess dairy, not once, not twice, but 3 times. Some studies even suggest up to 5 times.
Seems like it was definitely advantageous to consume dairy
