When Jason Todd was first introduced he was given an origin very similar to Dick Grayson’s (although since it was given in more detail than Dick’s had been in the '40s modern versions of Dick Grayson tend to use a lot of elements from Jason Todd.) After the Crisis on Infinite Earths Jason’s past was rewritten with the “street kid” origin. And then a couple of years after that he was killed off.
