    Because many people in the US are blood thirsty and love to glorify violence and death. I say this as a person born, raised, and still lives in the US.

    An example: Not too long ago, I was talking to someone about my injuries and issues stemming from a drunk driver. The guy looked me right in the face and told me he believed that the drunk should be put to death for what he did.

    I don’t even believe the drunk should die and I’m the one who sustained life altering injuries.
