Or look at how many places are trying to charge you money for pooping. Having your private one in your car sounds really helpful here. It’s sad to see how browser manufacturers have been treating RSS for a while. Back in the day your Firefox would show you that a page has an RSS feed. You were able to click on it, see what was in there in human readable, not cryptic-XML style format, and you were able to subscribe to it. Then you had a nice little bookmark showing you everything this page had posted recently. RSS is a great technology and it really really sucks how Big Tech has tried to kill it.
Do you know what the stupid thing about this is? Those generations are not the same between countries. Babyboomer for example are defined as people born between 1946 and 1964 in the USA. In Germany it’s 1955 till 1969. There are also people around talking about “Boomer” in asian countries, which had totally different experiences and demographics. The whole concept of those “generations” is trash and people thinking that there is a specific stare for everyone who was born in a certain timeframe is also an idiot

Das klappt vllt. in der juristischen Welt, aber ist am Ende nicht Alltagstauglich und dann parken Leute so, wie alle anderen Autos an der Stelle
That happens a lot. There are a lot of people doing open zoom meetings and webinars. So you might have a webinar about “how to install solar on your roof”, organized by some organisation or a public zoom meeting for some online community. Be careful with what you are watching in the next few years. Hollywood gave itself a diverse face in the last few years. Put in black actors, had some strong women in lead roles, had some gay characters and so on. I’m afraid that we will see some movies pushing hart right MAGA topics in the next time. Movies that are pushing for traditional gender roles, have gay people as evil masterminds, immigrants as criminals and so on. We already saw that with all those movies with evil arab guys in the bush era. Hollywood was taken over by Trump’s tech billionaires, you will see this turn it in the media you are watching. That will influence you and maybe you shouldn’t watch such stuff

Yeah, that’s a problem. So even if you want to search your local newspaper, you won’t be able to because of bot protection. Your crawler will be blocked. You also can’t put the whole of Reddit or even Lemmy in your search index.
It makes sense - a self-contained device can be circumvented. A connected solution is much, much harder to fool
Time to start self hosting
There is simply no usable self-hosted search engine. There are some projects like Yacy or Searxng, but they do not have their own index. And having your own self-hosted index is kind of impossible because you need to save the whole of the web on your own devices to be able to search it.
The fact that a multi-billion dollar company publishes a post like this shows how bad things have gotten.
