Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What’s the weirdest experience you’ve ever had?
8·8 days agoI understand your question from a sensory standpoint, to me it was the removal of my wisdom teeth. The anesthesia. Gradually losing agency over my mind and body, and an inescapable physical force pressing down on my forehead. It felt like dying, for a few seconds. I knew the context, yet my instincts kicked in and told me, “you’re dying”. I remember fighting,… trying to get up straight but being held down by this merciless force. I’ve never felt this vulnerable. Mortal.

1·10 days agoAh, good. Over here the AC drips into a tube that lead to a nearby banana plant. Better than letting it go to waste

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Some folks say lawns are bad. So what is the better option?
10·10 days agoWell, any combination of species that are native to your area -slash- noninvasive and you find pretty or produce fruits that you enjoy or flowers that the local bees might enjoy.
It’s going to depend on your biome a lot. A pond is nice too, introduce a couple frogs and some fish, filter the water, plant some citronnelle around and you shouldn’t have to worry about mosquitoes…

3·11 days agoFor anyone confused, this is because not releasing the excess kinetic energy (that way or another) can cause it to flee, usually at the most inopportune of times

Toots Hibbert (and the Maytals). He died in 2020. I would never have been able to enjoy his music before then anyway so… there’s always the recordings. My morning playlist is almost all Toots
