Or something that goes a bit deeper onto each instance and explains them better? I have a mutual on mastodon that I recommended Lemmy to, and tried to link join-lemmy.org/instances, but it doesn’t really do much to warn about hexbear/lemmygrad/.ml/etc. Those instances are defederated from a LOT of lemmy and i don’t want my moot to sign up there and not even know that they’re not really experiencing the Lemmy experience that I’m recommending.
I don’t wanna start a war in the comments about instance dramas, I just wanna find a better resource to recommend Lemmy as a ‘reddit alternative’ -w-

Did you know that the reason “tankies” created Lemmy in the first place was because Reddit kept banning anything left of neoliberalism? All corporate social media platforms suppress anti-capitalists, and they especially suppress Marxist-Leninists, because they represent the most serious threat to capitalism.
Edit to add: Also, lemmy.ml is one of the most federated instances.
does lemmy.ml federate hexbear?
Yes. It federates with everyone except for spam instances and fascist instances.
isn’t hexbear an online Nazi stronghold?
are Nazis not fascist anymore?
Hexbear is only a fascist stronghold to horseshoe theorists.
ah.
that must be why it was defederated by so many mainstream communities.
You’ve managed to get yourself permanently banned from multiple instances, so you must be an expert on the topic.
weird flex on someone and stalk their ban history. whatever though, I couldn’t care less that you wasted your time.
