We went once to a very expensive restaurant (by our standards) the food, no, I am a good cook so restaurant food doesn’t impress me. The reason it was expensive was small seating area, only 25 people at a time and that also was not great because they had only one server to do everything.
Was it good? Yes. Was it worth it? No.
A different time we went to a different expensive but not SO expensive restaurant here and that was better. The server brought us each plate one at a time to share, made recommendations, sort of hung out in the least annoying way possible, and the food was local and creative. That one I would say was worth it.
Individual item? Probably wine with my rich brother in law. I’ve not enough of a palate to say much, but OTOH I don’t really like wine enough to like bad wine, and since I wasn’t paying, 100% worth it.
