It has an interesting genealogy: Randy Newman’s song “Baltimore” was done as a reggae cover by Nina Simone, then covered again by an actual reggae band called The Tamlins, which then got remixed/dubbed by Scientist. If you listen to Newman’s and then Scientist’s, they’re effectively unrecognizable in relation other than lyrical snippets. I absolutely recommend it.
