The Republicans don’t care that they are hypocrites. Their electorate doesn’t care they are hypocritical. These tweets are not a gotcha, it’s just engagement bait.

The thing is while LLMs do make mistakes when you have something you can drive conformance with they are actually pretty good (eventually)
For electrical or plumbing we can simulate those pretty well and a LLM can iterate until it gets a reasonable output since it can check its work against a simulator.
You could likely live in a house for a bit before you stumbled into something stupid. You could live your entire life and not notice if you never tore out the walls.
However if you went to change a light switch you might discover it used 3 different kinds of screws and the screw terminals are mislabeled.

81·10 days agoI would love one but I’m a track point person and that pretty much leaves me with one option.
Pinta is more like a fancy paint alternative.
It has layers but it way more accessable than gimp
It’s something you might have called someone with a physical disability on the school yard in the 90s but I have not heard anyone use it in that way in a long long time
No, but I have heard the William Shatner cover of the pulp song
I mean for most people it makes sense.
No one wants to make another account for the hundredth time.
I always do because I don’t trust Google et AI not to lock me out but the account creation friction of the modern web sucks.
You’re not thinking that far ahead. Eventually the AI summary will have embedded ads.
“That’s a nice website but why don’t you try this one over here…”

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•& they keep looking at u to monitor ur reaction😰
2·11 days agoI am low vision so I can’t see a phone unless it’s nice and close.
This fact has saved me from many of these situations. If they are extra insistent I tell them to send me the link and reply with a laugh emoji as is expected in our culture.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why does it feel that desktop screen time isn't as bad as smartphone screen time?
2·13 days agoSure hence the generally.
Still for every gamer watching Netflix there are probably 5 office admins using their Dell optiplex to book appointments or handle a call at a call center.

Phones are for consuming, desktops are for creating (generally)

Technology@lemmy.world•Iran Strikes Leave Amazon Availability Zones "Hard Down" in Bahrain and DubaiEnglish
92·28 days agoAre these actually meaningful availability zones?
They should hit us-east.
It’s always going to be razor thin margins because it’s a two party System and first past the post.
Anything that doesn’t address that problem is just window dressing
Even if (big if) the Dems win this year it’s going to be like a 52 to 48 " landslide" . Then they will fix nothing and maybe punish 1 or 2 people but not address the principal cause, in the name of “unity”.
Then you get to roll the dice again on 8 years but likely with someone a little more clever than the Dorito bonito.
This is actually a very good example of middle managers in a large organization getting marching orders and seeing which way the wind is blowing.
IBM had a similar thing in the early 2010s when they decided they were all in on “cloud” (about 10 years too late). Every manager saw where things were headed and pivoted whatever their product was to “Cloud” regardless of the suitability.
The higher ups like this too because it lets them put everything under the “cloud” or AI heading on earnings and revenue and makes them look like they are nimble and working on the new hotness, even if it’s just someone moving their calculator to a web app or whatever.

Which is a ridiculous premise of you think about it for even a moment.
