Technology@lemmy.world•Claude Code's source code appears to have leaked: here's what we knowEnglish
1201·7 days agoIf you installed or updated Claude Code via npm on March 31, 2026, between 00:21 and 03:29 UTC, you may have inadvertently pulled in a malicious version of axios (1.14.1 or 0.30.4) that contains a Remote Access Trojan (RAT). You should immediately search your project lockfiles (package-lock.json, yarn.lock, or bun.lockb) for these specific versions or the dependency plain-crypto-js. If found, treat the host machine as fully compromised, rotate all secrets, and perform a clean OS reinstallation.
Lol 😂

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How do you feel about the current state of Lemmy?English
81·16 days agoYes there is. Check this out - https://join.piefed.social/2024/06/22/piefed-features-for-growing-healthy-communities/
It’s up to the instance admins to make use of those but I certainly have on https://piefed.social/. I have no qualms about banning negative, bad-faith or douchy losers to save people from blocking them. And if a community is bad enough, I’ll ban the whole community.
Also by deciding what to include in the starter-packs used during onboarding the admin can encourage people to join good communities while leaving toxic ones harder to find.
Thousands of disinfo websites are blocked out of the box and I’ve manually added warnings onto dozens more that are frequently posted on Lemmy.
There’s more, way more. But you get the idea.

131·25 days agoNo, but there is on PieFed.social. Mods and admins have functionality to check any post or comment for LLM-generated text. There’s more stuff too.
Generally I share my findings with Lemmy admins so they can ban the account.
I think this is a pretty big threat to the fediverse and social media in general and am taking it very seriously. At the moment the amount of slop is pretty low but we need to be ready for the deluge when it comes.

121·1 month agoThe sycopathy is because to make the chat bot (trained on Reddit posts, etc) to respond helpfully (instead of “well ackshually…”) and in a prosocial manner they’ve skewed it. What we’re interacting with is a very small subset of the personalities it can exhibit because a lot of them are extremely nasty or just unhelpful. To reduce the chance of them popping up to an acceptable level they’ve had to skew the weights so much that they become like this.
There’s no easy way around that, afaik.

A very entertaining read. I’m completely unsurprised, based on my experience trying to use Azure. Garbage platform.
And now they’re hacking on that shitshow with CoPilot. Jesus wept.
