I laughed a bit more than I think that I should have

embarrassed and embarazada (pregnant) in Spanish

That’s a pretty shitty thing to do

it took me a while to realize the one on the left does in fact have arms 🤣
edit: following!

I thought that was the whole comic until I read this

I feel that right there

Around COVID times, I had a coworker who bought a 100+ year old farmhouse out in Minnesota and we could see over time how he was fixing it up. Then he quit and started his homestead. Enviable man.
but yeah, I’ve heard of a lot of people in tech quitting at 20 years, which seems high? but at around 13+ years, I get it. I just don’t really know what I’d go to

that makes sense, and it got you out of a bad situation. I don’t know what else to say other than I’m happy for where you’ve gotten to and here’s a hug 🤗

sort of, on cpu it’s slow, but if you are running a large model on something with s lot of RAM, those will be slower unless you can do multiple GPUs. the main issue is the size of the model. I ran a few smaller ones that i could fit in 16GB but the issue is that they’re not really useful

oh my word, it sounds like you’ve been through hell and back. I’m glad you made it out!

I remember reading of the lady who donated her kidney to get boss and then got fired

in general I feel the same way about python, but the federation traffic is done with redis queues as a background task and my servers can easily run around 2.5-3k messages per second before spinning up another pod. The rest of the load is, of course, when using the UI, but with most of the load being federation, it’s not that big of a deal when you have a separate container/pod with reasonable resource limits.

One thing I’ve found is that people tend to have no chill. I’ve shared some posts with friends that don’t use it and multiple times they’ve responded with “why are they so serious”

Nope, I have lots of friends who have best friends of both genders outside of their partners. If anything, it’s good to have these relationships since you’re not putting everything (and all of your needs) just on your partner. It’s good to be able to spread our relationships and needs around a bit. If anything, if you’re boyfriend was insecure about it, then that’d be an insecurity on his side. It’s healthy to have friendships. It’s not like you two are flirting or getting any romantic or sexual energy from each other (it isn’t always from sex). I give two thumbs up for friends!

Oh I’m loving these! I’m subscribed to the RSS now :)

i think I was hungry

I wanted a place for the digital nomad and travel niche, so I made it. I’m hoping to have resources like maps, tips, and other things like blogs
check out the communities https://piefed.keyboardvagabond.com/communities?home_select=local
there’s also [pixelfed](https://pixel/ fed.keyboardvagabobd.com) and mastodon, though it’s been a bit harder to get them as full with content
I don’t really pay attention to user names when I read, but there are a few frequent posters that I’ve recognized
