No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•According to an MIT study, relying on ChatGPT for stuff like essays and creativity leads to cognitive atrophy and such. What should I do when writing stories without ChatGPT and other AI chatbots?
6·25 days agoRead the book storyworthy by Matthew dicks. Set up a framework for a 3 act structure or heroes journey. Fill in the framework to find your story everything else is gravy. I do this professionally. The steps are simple. But the inward searching of your soul, that’s the hard part.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How do first time movie writers ensure someone along the way won't get ripped off? Like say Jay in the mail room sees your scripts and develops it himself, what recourse is there against mail clerk?
51·1 month agoBe honored its worth stealing. And be happy you didnt have to put up the cash to test the market. Also, your first movie won’t be your best work. There is another in you. When you write the 2nd one use the lawsuit to pay for its creation and it will market itself with the drama.

Technology@lemmy.world•Copyright Industry Continues Its Efforts To Ban VPNsEnglish
11·1 month agoYeah it’s outdated. But should the worldwide license cost the same as the licence just for lithuania? What if you were a small upstart just trying to do something online for your local community? Or a school hosting licenced media for study purposes.
While you are right there are theoretically no borders on the internet. They can be built, Netflix US or Netflix AUS for instance are geo blocking so they can pay smaller licences. And that is their right just as much as it is for a school which is fenced with a .edu login. At least in copyright laws current iteration. Who should be responsible for an outside actor getting access?
Fun to think about.

1·1 month agoNa coz you own the media outright. But streaming a show from a country on Netflix that you are not in, is against the licences terms. I don’t think you would be liable. Its more a Netflix problem providing media to someone who theyre not licenced to share it with.
Edit: I’m thinking offline physical copys not online serviced games.

5·1 month agoLicences for media are country specific. So vpns allow you to circumvent that. I don’t beleive it’s piracy. But it’s…something.
Also the value of a dollar is going to be so high in 5 million years due to inflation.
And here I am finding out that Jesus isnt talking to other people regularily through the medium of toast.
Na too late. My mind is already blown and creating a new reality where food is media. I like this new world and don’t intend to leave.
And here I am not realizing that food counts as media.
😂 coz I’m a damn fool that’s why

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What would it take for you to switch to Linux?
2·2 months agoI theory you can do the same stuff, just a different workflow. Stock reaper fX are…ok. But vsts perform the same. But…not so much on Linux. Some do, but others like native instruments don’t nativly. And that’s what’s holding me back from Linux. Too deep into eco systems that aren’t supported. NI, addict it’d ive keys, addictive drums, izotope. If I moved to linux it’d change my sound.
