I appreciate fan games tons, but if you and your small team of Megamen superfans are talented enough to make a whole game, why not just make your own IP inspired by Megaman? Capcom isn’t Nintendo and probably won’t send out a cease and desist, but how many amazing passion projects have turned to dust this way. I suppose using existing IP might give you more exposure, but it may also lead to a couple dudes in suits knocking on your door to force you to knock off your undertaking.
