I just googled and read the movie is rated R in the US! And Coming to America too!
Here they are rated 12, 6 if adults are present.
So your comment made me smile a bit.

This and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation have been our family Christmas movies for decades!

Ace Ventura. I love the shower scene, it’s hilarious, but today it’s unthinkable to make a scene like this.

Oh, I was talking about the gog installers. It’s advised by gog to keep the installers after you bought the game.
I guess you meant illegal copies, and you are right, in that case the police would definitely knock on a Sunday morning.

And how would they do that? Knock on my door on a Sunday morning, enter and trash my external hard drives where I keep the backup installers?

Have fun! I sure did back then, and when I replayed the remaster.
One tip: Somewhere in the sewers (I don’t remember which level) is a field where you encounter lots of enemies (20 or more?). They respawn when you change levels. I used that particular spot to farm, saves you at least some time! And don’t forget the fire horn, it’s extremely powerful and can be bought usually at Garth’s!
Good memories! Thank your for this post! It put a smile on my face!

I played it on the Amstrad CPC, from cassette/tape. Saving/loading from tape took ages, so did the loading for dungeons. I have no idea how I managed to beat this game.
Do yourself a favour. Get the remastered version from gog. It’s the same game, with auto mapping and the ability to save and load whenever you want.
Or… draw maps and go to the adventurer’s guild every few minutes to save your game. And then grind, grind, grind, and grind :) Don’t bother reviving party members in the beginning, it’s too expensive!

My first game I played with the Diamond Monster 3D (Voodoo 1 4 MB) was Tomb Raider 1. I could not believe what was happening. It looked soooo much better, and the frame rates were so fucking high! That really was voodoo magic. I can’t remember something other that magical in all my gaming history.

It’s from a time the new era started to take off while most ordinary people (and filmmakers) had no idea what was really coming. Nor did they really understand any of it. Like Hackers this makes The Net extremely interesting to watch, it’s not good, but it just keeps on giving!

This is not real?!? It can’t be… right??

When I realized this I decided to turn off my views on my own up and down votes. I had no idea how relaxing it is to just post and not give a fuck what people think. The opposite thinking was drilled into me by Reddit pretty well over the years. I’m so glad I escaped that shithole.
Still, if you do this, please don’t be an asshole!

I’m on the opposite side. Most of the story makes sense in the science the show defines, and the main character is not your run of the mill standard ordinary high school boy. And it has enough twists to keep the show fun.

I guess it’s back to good old forums, hosted in Mukibukistan on the other side of the world.
Wouldn’t be such a bad thing.
Please elaborate.
In the sequel of The Thing they first used animatronics and later replaced them with CG. I’m still angry about what could have been an awesome movie. With CG it looks just bad.
