I don’t like my roommates enough to even hang out let alone cuddle, but in August that will change and I’ll have roommates I do want to cuddle with.

I have a TV in my bedroom set up specifically for in case I have a friend over and we want to cuddle on the bed and watch stuff. It’s hooked up to my computer for ad-free YouTube but is separate from my regular computer monitor.
My roommates do have a living room TV but I feel weird about cuddling in front of them.
I don’t think people choose has over electric because of a dumb lust for power, I think it’s because many people can’t charge at home (especially with rents going up and cheap landlords unwilling to install chargers), there are more 15+ year old used gas cars, and outdated worries about range (fast charging has gotten better).

Like electric bicycles with controllers that can be easily swapped, programmed, and tinkered with?

Isn’t that what Nebula/CuriosityStream is? All my favorite YouTubers promote it, though the caveat is you have to pay but I think the money actually goes to the creators (and they put bonus content on it like a patreon).

I disagree about being content with a small user base, I want more niche communities beyond News/Politics, Linux/FOSS, and memes.
It wasn’t common knowledge back then
