There’s a chance you care if you look deeply and subtly enough.

You may also be surrounded by lecturing idiots who make caring about folks lame, insufferable, or like losing a battle. A normal (subconscious) response to such a thing would be to pull back and not care, to get others’ nagging out of you.

That or, sometimes brains have to do bizarre, desperate things to be able to process something as awful as others’ pain like that. Those things would naturally have to be strong to have any effect, and may themselves have their own draw, which isn’t the same as liking the pain, it’s liking a coping mechanism.

You don’t need an alternate route to justify a “bridge out” sign.

Establishing that something is a crap use of energy and attention is perfectly fine as a standalone statement. It needs nothing else.

Tons of people use a few correct points about social justice as a way to make themselves publicly noble. It’s horrendous, and it sends the signal to everybody else:

“we’re like you, we don’t care about the underprivileged either, we just leverage their plight differently, for different personal gain”

There’s no greater goal to work towards with such a person. They’re looking to set themselves above you, nothing more. This is not the step with which most group projects begin.

This account ^ is going very far out of its way to make very bad points and overlook obvious gaping privacy violations, which are things that can be both identified and stopped.

The takeaway of massively privacy invading glasses is they can always be stopped at both the individual and the systemic level.
