PGA Tour 2K25 and EA Sports WRC - both iterations of previously released “sports” games. I know not everyone’s cup of tea for “gaming”.
I play both cross-platform with my family in other locations and it’s a nice way to stay connected with them.
But for the golf game, forcing us all to buy new versions that don’t improve on anything (or arguably make it worse than the previous release) while shutting off access to the previous is maddening.
For the rally game, similar sentiment, but also for not living up to the potential of the license/previous releases, not fixing issues that have been around since first release, killing off codemasters, and squandering the WRC license just to abandon the title.

We’ve switched to oat milk as lactose intolerance has become more of a thing with age. We usually get what’s on sale though, and have noticed a difference in quality, taste, and if it separates easily in the coffee. I prefer oat to almond (too watery) and soy (too nutty).

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•When do Americans actually do the taxes? On January 1? Or do y'all like procrastinate till April 15?
2·5 months agoFor my family, normally early March after all the paperwork has been received and I find time to sit and look at boring shit.
This year, I started around then and saw that we owed federal a bunch and I stopped as that fragile motivation was now gone and I wasn’t in a hurry to send trumpy money for ballrooms, legal defense, bombs, ice, etc.
Finally went back to it last night and finished up tonight. I’m getting roughly the same amount back from my state.

19·6 months agoUsed to think that if you put in the work at your job, showing loyalty and dedication, that the company would take care of you. That’s how it worked for my parents…working for the same place starting as a college intern through retirement, or changing jobs when they felt like it when they wanted to move elsewhere.
It sounds naive now after years in the real world being taken advantage of, getting passed by, and getting laid off because of a company’s whims…but when I showed up in the job market with a degree and good grades from college it was quite a shock.

It’s an oldie, but my parents had George Benson’s Give Me The Night on during a road trip and I was pretty sure he was saying “Give me the knife”
