Same. I had Disney+ and Hulu for YEEEARS until that happened. I canceled immediately. Also canceled Paramount after having it for years when they canceled Colbert for no reason other than to appease the dipshit president.

Beyond VSCodium (which I have switched to since this news), what are everyone’s favorite alternatives that are easy to switch to?
I say easy to switch to because no one is jumping to Vim or whatever on this news. I don’t mean to offend the deeply Linuxed, but they aren’t.

They don’t tell you they are doing it, for one.
Even though this 4GB is local, the “omnibox” at the top that also uses Gemini shit doesn’t use this 4GB and still goes to the web to determine the slop it wants to provide.

I have nothing meaningful to add here about the discussion, but I wanted to say I got an opportunity to cycle around Belgium last year through several towns and the countryside and it was such a great experience. Everyone was nice, and it was a wonderful time. As someone from the USA, I’m envious.

Everyone has their own style, but Bob over here doesn’t change his style every day. Before, my boss had their own style, and if I ended up working on their code I’d try to match that just to keep things consistent. But now it’s all over the place.
AI slop just flops out whatever it feels like at any given time since it’s just cribbing everything from the internet.

One of my bosses has been a little Ai-pilled recently and he also contributes code.
I can tell which parts are his AI slop not from any git blame or anything but because of how it looks. You can see the stylistic differences in a block of code from one file to the next, and also it seems like AI likes to add comments to everything, and he just copy and pastes it all into the file. Those comments are often very different looking, too. So just stylistically everything is all over the place.

I just Bezos wasn’t invested in the company. I’d hate to give that fucker any more money if I can help it.

Windows 10 kept throwing up full screen ads for whatever bullshit they were trying to get me to sign up for while also telling me my computer wasn’t good enough for Windows 11.
And that’s how I ended up with Mint on my desktop and laptop a couple months ago.
I have to use Windows for work, but my personal machines are Linux and macOS at this point, and I have zero intention of buying another windows license.
Exactly.
No one needs to worship Steam. Gabe will never let you on one of his 50 yachts.

So, Apple and other companies that charge 30% to host apps: BAD
Steam changes 30% to host games: GOOD
I’m not saying this is your argument, necessarily, but it’s funny to hear that “30% is good actually!” in the tech space because the last few years it’s been “Apple and others who charge 30% are taking too much! All they do is host and manage the traffic for apps!”
And I’m not trying to say Apple is good or anything. It’s just funny.

You talkin’ 'bout Blewskee?

Yep. Just don’t connect it. Or connect it once a year to get some firmware updates if one wants (or better yet use a USB stick).
I have a good Samsung TV, but when I had it connected to the internet the UI would be painfully slow every time I needed to switch inputs (I have most things running through my receiver, but my PC was straight into the TV). Turning off all internet functions vastly improved my experience with this TV.
No and a little.
I get paid well, I work from home, and we take every other Friday off because we can. But the work itself isn’t groundbreaking, though I don’t hate it or anything.

Right? Weren’t they making some AI podcast or something as well?
None of that sounded good.

See for yourself:

Sounds like a bad PC port or something. That’s unfortunate.
Both games on PlayStation have zero issues with controller input.

Counterpoint to this other guy:
It IS a slow game to get into. And your companion can be stubborn sometimes.
BUT, by the end of the game I really enjoyed it. And it hits some emotional points.
To me it felt like another game from this team. They all have kinda weird control schemes you have to get into your brain, but the games are rewarding if you stick with them.
Someone needs to sit this guy down with some crayons and be like, “the alligator wants to eat the bigger number. Do you now understand why you can’t afford this?”
