My parents still do (these days to mean recording something on their DVR). I don’t think young people really watch TV like that do they?

The most I’ve gone is 36 hours, basically a day-night-day missing 1 night of sleep, I don’t recommend it. The second day I was limited enough in functionality that I didn’t do anything I’d planned to that day but I was able to function on a basic level, though in terms of “hiding” it I think I succeeded since I still had normal interactions with people and nobody seemed to suspect anything. I was a lot younger then.
Where I was originally going with this was to say it seems to be consistent across people from different countries with different education systems and different educational materials.
But, now you’ve had me looking up vintage Fisher Price letter magnets. And yes, they do seem to use fairly consistent colours over time with the E being consistently blue so you could be on to something. Though not all the letters line up with my personal synesthesia, maybe about half do.
I had thought of that but surely we didn’t all have the same alphabet magnets.
9 is dark red
I have synesthesia and it’s always been turquoise (green/blue) to me. Interesting how many people seem to agree with me since I thought it would be pretty individual.

So not “global population decline”?

Seems strange to me as well, I thought they were talking about ground coffee but apparently not. Why would you keep it? It will be awful even if it’s technically safe.
I’d say there’s an optimum number of people, you’re less likely to have meaningful interactions with a very high number of people. Mastodon is a lot closer to that optimum.
For me Mastodon is better than Twitter ever was, you can have real social interactions there, Twitter had too many people shouting for attention. I believe more by the day that smaller social media is better.
I haven’t blocked anyone yet, not really a believer in it unless they’re personally targeting me. For me it feels like plastering over cracks, I’d rather just leave if there were too many toxic people around.

They’re a political group by definition, even if you don’t believe the rationale it’s their prerogative, if they left former Twitter purely because it didn’t align with their values that wouldn’t be a contradiction in and of itself because their whole reason for existing is taking a political stand.

They don’t have their own instance as far as I know but they’re very active on mastodon.social

People who use marijuana are like your stereotypical vegans or Arch uses. Never pass on the opportunity to tell you.
I use it, I like it, though there is something in the back of my mind about the company that sets off alarm bells that I can’t quite put my finger on so I’m cautious. But I don’t mind the model of paying for online services in principle. I would say it’s about as good as DuckDuckGo was 10 years ago when it was still good (DDG has gone downhill like a lot of things in my opinion), and Kagi is the best search I can find now. I do research for work so I need the unlimited (middle) tier since I use a lot of search, I consider it reasonable value for money. I suggest doing the free trial and see how long it takes to run out before deciding which tier to choose.
A sign saying Labrador to me is less proof to me than a body of pictures documenting the culture; and I don’t necessarily mean artistic or traditional culture, it could be streets, houses, road-signs, shops, infrastructure, etc. that have features that rule out it being anywhere else, that’s what’s lacking. If Tristan da Chunha is a bad example, you could try Greenland (only double the population of Labrador but sparser), which is even colder.

I have that one too…

In which direction? Because if it’s somewhat warm but raining I’d be more likely to lean towards shorts since they’re easier to dry than long trousers.
That’s true. I would always say “filmed” for that which come to think of it alludes to even older technology.
