I am one of those “psychos” that actually like hot tea in the middle of summer. Don’t ask me how, I just find it enjoyable (usually indoors, outdoors I prefer cold stuff in the summer)
A lot of crying in the car and gooning. Are those 2 related?

11·20 days agoI think is a collective stroke
You may be half joking, but I’ve discussed this many times with my partner. Society, by today’s definition, do not reward at all having kids. However, for a society to keep going you **need ** children, so wtf is supposed to happen? No children, society just grows old at at some point you have a massive decline in the younger brackets? And then is just old folks yelling at clouds? Also, another detail, the mono parental lifestyle we have nowadays is actually quite recent. And I do think is very much impossible to have the expected amount of children on such system
Somehow, I can hear this gif

That for me is incredibly strange. Basically means for the Netherlands a massive change was made in the original medium. If it makes it better or worse I can’t tell, but I would personally always check the original to understand better what was the original intent of the show (which I plan to do with this one. I need more stop motion animation in my life)
Can anyone remind me where this animation comes from and the name? I am a sucker for stop motion kind of animations

2·2 months agoMy definition of refurb is anyone that actually has a store and only deals with this stuff. Examples are western digital themselves or Seagate, or shops like true base

Technology@lemmy.world•AI blamed again as hard drives are sold out for this yearEnglish
81·2 months agoFor me hard drives could potentially be bought second hand. However, it is is not coming from someone who does this stuff at a professional level (refurbished in other words), I am not sure if I can trust it. Not because of the quality but because what was in it. Every time I get a refurb drive I have the bad habit to check what was the previous data if readable. One day I am sure I will get a nasty surprise…

Technology@lemmy.world•Dutch cops arrest a man for demanding reward after sending him confidential files by mistakeEnglish
2·2 months agoThere was a piece a while ago of a guy that went to expired domains in Belgium, happened to buy an old domain from the police, and all of a sudden, started to have emails from the police with a mail server. Crazy how no one checked the domain.
Edit: found the URL here. And there was other institutions hit as well, not just police

Technology@lemmy.world•Dutch cops arrest a man for demanding reward after sending him confidential files by mistakeEnglish
1·2 months agoThat is not a good idea. Demanding ransom from the police never works out. Also, this gives quite a bad vibe to the dutch police as well (or this precinct in particular), since someone cannot verify where to send the files first.
Oh, you need to print a form before going to the airport because of some outdated entry requirement? Sure, I will jam the paper 3 times, ask for a magenta cartridge after failing printing, even if you are printing black only, and then i will ask to sacrifice your first born when you are getting desperate to print and leave!
