I’m not in these devs heads, but I guess that’s the point. Providing something that’s real enough (as a toy model, you’re not going to clean room blender with this…) to get the discussion started and see what we can do against that kind of practice which will definitely become a real threat in the future if left unchecked.

For every n, u_n = a × r^n.
Ratio r and first term a are fixed, exponent n varies. The sequence (u_n) does grow (or decrease) exponentially fast.
At least that’s what the English definition is, and in my first language as well. If there is one in which “geometric” means “power function”, I’d actually be curious to know.
