In the grand scheme of things its not that bad but technically Sealand started out as a pirate radio station

There’s one radio station near me that’s halfway decent to listen to every now and again but the host that’s normally on when I’m driving just plays the same 5-7 songs on loop most days.
Also the adverts are insane, they’ll maybe get through 2 songs before going to 10 mins of ads then come back for one song and go into some radio competition before going back to ads again.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What other delivery mechanisms are there, and which ones are your favourites?
3·19 days agoFries being a delivery system for ketchup and mayo at the same time is great too.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is there some place on the fediverse I can follow the ramblings of @realDonaldTrump@truthsocial.com without actually giving any traffic to his turd of a social site?
13·19 days agoI think I saw someone a while ago who said truth social is technically a mastodon instance? I guess it depends if anywhere’s federated though.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is Jules Vernes overlooked in the Anglosphere
7·20 days agoTbh I’d probably say I know an equal amount about both of them, it’s just barely anything in both cases. I know Jules Verne wrote around the world in 80 days, and H.G. Wells wrote War Of The Worlds but I don’t really know much beyond that for either of them.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Who do you think was history's greatest villain?
9·22 days agoIdk if this counts because he didn’t realise how bad it was but Thomas Midgley Jr put CFCs in fridges and put lead in petrol

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Was the world always a fucked up place?
36·1 month agoWe didn’t start the fire was written for this exact reason. Billy Joel was talking to someone 20 years younger than him who said that when he was 20 more stuff had happened than when Billy Joel was 20, so he just started listing all the stuff that had happened before he was 20 and then expanded it into the song.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If you could "skill trade", what would you trade?
4·2 months agoNot sustain but at least provide something extra. The sort of thing where a couple of commissions might get you a pizza or some other treat that you couldn’t justify otherwise.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If you could "skill trade", what would you trade?
3·2 months agoId probably trade my gaming skills for any sort of artistic skill. At least then I could be good at something that you can make an income from.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is a belief you’ve done a total 180 on?
836·2 months agoIdk why we’ve reached the point where anyone saying they’re anything but an atheist has to specify that they aren’t a bigot. Being religious doesn’t make you a bigot and being atheist doesn’t mean you aren’t one either.
I had a similar 180 though, I used to be an atheist but in the last year or so I pivoted into druidism. Turns out following a religion that focuses on spending time in nature helps to get you out of the house when you’re going though a depressive episode.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What made you choose your Fediverse Instance?
6·2 months agoI was on lemmy.ee and when it shut down I wanted to join an instance that wouldn’t defederate unless it absolutely had to, .today was the first option I saw and it works well enough for what I need it for

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why do people go out of their way to dodge manhole covers while driving?
11·2 months agoBecause it feels horrible to drive over and if they’re bad enough you can crack your rim on them
That’s the definition I’d normally use, the greenhouse is the space the plants are kept in and if that space is inside a building it’s an indoor greenhouse, if it’s an independent structure it’s an outdoor greenhouse.
It could be a glass building outdoors instead.
In my case, arts and crafts. Even if it looks like something should be super easy I just don’t have the right hand eye coordination to do it. I started making a diorama months ago and it’s still looking like shit
