Autistic and ADHD, Im a huge nerd who loves researching whatever interests me that day. My lifetime passions range from AI(actual AI, not LLMs. I was working on AI a decade before LLMs hit he market), programming, inventing, educating, futurism, tech, space, and for the last couple years bioengineering. I use lemmy as my only “social media”, and even then i mostly use it for news or memes. I hate society as is it ableist, hippocritical, uncaring to those whose value cant be extracted, and most humans are pretty cringe. As such i have no desire for “social media”, it suffers from the exact same issues reality TV suffers from.
I do have a biological desire to socialize however, so i prefer to have a small group i am intensely devoted towards, whether that be friends, family, or a lover. If youre looking for a personal connection i would like for you to reach out, but if youre a guy then be forewarned: i will not respond to misogyny, i cant comfort you,
I definitely seem to be in the minority here, but when im brainstorming neat scifi tech, i often bounce it off gemini, or whatever google uses. It very often corrects me on my misunderstandings, i have had it halucinate a couple times but were mostly operating on logic, so its failings are easy to spot. Its generally more than happy to tell me im wrong, so its useful as a baseline.

My financial situation means that if that phone fails to work or breaks rapidly, the loss of that $200 is extremely consequential. Odds are lower that an unused phone will break within the 5 years i need them to last

Well google just renabled automatic app updates and it broke a bunch of my apps because I get the pre adware/spyware/buyout version of apps. So ive been in the market the last week for a graphene phone. Seems pretty likely ill get a stock android phone thats supported by grapheneOS and flash it myself, im uncomfortable with buying a pre used $200 phone.

You have to understand that most humans are really fucking stupid, or at least illogical. Take every interaction with a grain of salt, because the person you are arguing with at the end of the day is a barely functional slab of meat that nature trained to think, as a joke.
I like to just respond with “Oh… ok.” And then stare at them for a massively uncomfortable amount of time. Really let them marinate in it. Even if they dont realise theyre being stupid, it makes them feel very awkward and hopefully pavlovs them into saying less dumb shit around me.

The acceleration over time(g force) is determined by the balance between the size and shape of the wing compared to the momentum of the flies body, as long as that proportion is extremely small it would fall below the material strength of the wings connective tissue. Seeing as their wings are extremely small and their momentum is extremely small, the only real variable here is the shape of their wings(technically im referring to its aerodynamic drag versus lift both with respect to the vector of motion, but were just gonna say shape{also when i say “wing” im referring to the area exposed to oncoming atmosphere, which would include the body}). As long as the shape isnt too big in comparison to the momentum, it should be fine.
Tl;dr/eli5: if it tucks its wings it will survive. At that speed if it untucks its wings they get ripped off and the fly becomes a walk.

As for speed, you do you. Nah, i hate this move to name good stuff after horrible people. I get that Trump wouldnt like his name being attatched to it, but heres the thing: is trumps suffering more important than everyone elses suffering? Because by imortalizing his name into a project like that you are ensuring that future generations learn of his ideologies.
I want him to get kirked where his name just vanished from the history books. A small footnote that he was the least popular president ever, outside of that it would be so nice if I never heard his name again after like 3 months.
What really sells it for me is erika kirks reaction. I havent actually been following the whole situation as again i dont care about right wing grifters, but projecting myself onto erika i would feel devestated that my husbands memory literally lasted like a month. All that influence, all those lives ruined, and yet you left a grand total of 1 month worth of memes as the culmination of your entire life story, then you are forgotten. That, to me, is both the best “punishment” and more importantly the best way for the world to signify to these people that their ideologies arent tolerated. It sends a message to their family about what happens when you attatch yourself to a monster. It shows the world that even if you care about a grifter, the world does not.
