Building something really expensive that the community doesn’t want is a good way to get maximally expensive arson committed against you. The bell has already been rung. The option is already on people’s minds.

This is what happens when you’re state/city doesn’t upgrade your airport either. I just flew through SFO and DIA this past week and security was under 5 minutes because they dont rely on TSA staff for the majority of their functions.

Yup. That’s why we gave them all that money years ago to do it. It was cheaper then too.
