all Christians pick and choose what to take at face value, and what to take in context from the Bible. The Bible permits and arguably advocates for slavery in several places. Mosaic law forbids wearing blended fabric.
Also there is both a reference to an abortifacient and an explanation that an induced abortion is required to be performed by a priest in the case of Adultery (Numbers, lots of English translations obfuscate this detail)
Lots of leftist Catholics i’ve met consider the words of Jesus to trump all other passages, similar to how Muslims give different credence to different Hadith depending on the purported witness. In this reading it’s pretty easy to come to a mostly left-leaning worldview.
I would also add that Catholics in general do not consider the Bible to be literally true descriptions of events that actually happened. Most Catholics, including most Catholic theologians, see the Bible as the word of God, but consider the stories contained within to range from entirely allegorical to semi-historical (but even then still largely allegorical).

I think there is a difference between having strong views and enforcing them on others, but also context is important.Also not all extreme views are equally harmful/harmless.
I’ve also heard the Lemmy dev has some bad takes (to perhaps put it mildly) but i’ve found the community to be mostly quite civil

It’s the best browser from a performance standpoint, and has the features i want, but it’s still a bit of a resource hog. It’s just that everything else is worse (slower, lacking essential features, or most often both).

He is an asshole because he now enforces a strict “anti-woke” policy among his contributors, and bans anyone who falls out of line. It’s one thing to ban controversial or political topics, but his interpretation takes things way past any semblance of reason.
A wild one i remember was when he banned someone for using singular they in some documentation, which has been a part of the English language since the Norman period at least. He said it was “political language”.

The Wii doesn’t do 240p? or just in RetroArch? I could swear there are quite a few Virtual Console games on Wii that do 240, as well as bespoke emulators for most other consoles that can do it.
Might not be the best option if you want RetroArch as your interface to everything though.
