No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How do you feel about a 25 year old dating a 46 year old?
2·5 days agoAs long as both of them getting a good deal out of it, sure. Honestly a 25yo is still pretty easy to take advantage of.
And I kinda agree with the saying: there is a reason why the older one isn’t with their age group. Those know better.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•After opening a jar of pizza sauce, how long would you trust it was still good in the fridge?
5·11 days agoProbably no more than 2 weeks. No mold, no weird smell and no weird taste.
Then boil it even before putting it on the pizza (bc I just feel better that way)

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•My friend is 31 and is constantly breaking out in acne. She also gets very irritated/argumentative before her period. Is this normal for her age?
61·12 days agoI’m not diagnosing her. but here is some advice that won’t hurt:
Shower before bed, and find a facial soap that doesn’t dry out the skin.
Wash your hair often.
Change your pillowcase every week.
Don’t eat chocolate.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If you had millions to spend on positive change in your local community / area, what would you spend it on?
1·20 days agoFree childcare and early childhood development with free meals for kids. Ohh and playgrounds and parks.
It has proven in the past to improve a lot of things in a community.
Mi a helyzet a szesz kazánnal?
Hungarian, English and passively German.
Can say basic phrases in Spanish, in Italian and in Japanese.
I have a brother laser printer. It is very basic, but it can print stickers with the right paper.
And the finished product won’t run, because it is laser vs ink.
I just put the third toner in, and works fine.
The only thing if you get a basic one, make sure it can use the right wifi network in your home.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Would you ever walk up to a total stranger and strike up a conversation?
16·23 days agoTalking to a random stranger in an environment where random talk is possible yes. (Bus, waiting room, concert, bar, basically anywhere public).
Going to stranger’s s table at a restaurant (not fast food, or shoulder to shoulder) nope.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•I want to write a comic book about a superhero in his 20s who comes from a very wealthy family but my friend says its stupid. Should I give up?
8·25 days agoIf you want to make something for yourself go ahead, stupid can be fun.
If you actually want to create it for other people to enjoy - you will need to find your audience.
It would make more sense to be an adopted child and to not know their origins, than coming from a rich family. Historically speaking all powerhouse/money families have the family tree figured out -they need it to prove the plebs they are better than those poor peepz.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you feel that use of generative AI and LLMs is ever justifiable? If so, when and where? If not, why not?
62·25 days agoI do love llms they have their limited use cases. But the problem is that humanity is right now playing with a loaded gun.
If we would learn how to use it properly, it would be just another useful tool. But we are incapable of being respectful of anything that’s not within our sight. An sometimes not even if it is within.
Our greed and laziness is what makes it bad. All those psychotic breaks? All those easy to exploit safeguards? Loosing our cognitive ability? Wasting money on unproven systems to make more money?
Humans are the problem.
Honestly I am waiting for AI caused copyright hellscape apocalypse. If everything is free, everything is free - and they can’t make money. It will be an ‘interesting ride’ for the years to come.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Do rich people get addicted to drugs?
27·26 days agoKilling your junkies don’t make sense. Even with small dealers they know how much they can ‘lend out’ to their clients. After the client gets to the point they get cut off. But they will have 20$ next time. You will give them 10$ material and keep the other 10 for their loan.
How they got the money, you don’t ask. Customer service even in drug business is the key to long term success.
And sometimes people who went to jail come back months later, because they hit big and they can afford to pay back that 16$ that you never thought you will see again… and then spend more money that you didn’t think they had.
Elephants! After them~~ everything else~~ is my favorite :)
Edit, never mind: Not everything else, mostly mammals and fishes - and couple danger noodles and creepy-crawlers - but definitely not icky bloodsuckers. Tho leeches are at least prettier while swimming, than those flying disease vectors.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Those of you with bathrooms attached to your bedroom, do you normally keep the door open or closed while you sleep and what's your reasoning?
24·1 month agoHuman monkey brains like enclosed spaces for security especially when we are the most vulnerable. Closed doors gives you the impression of safety.
And on top of that I have a window in the bathroom that’s not have any balckout curtains on it. So it needs to be closed, else I would wake with the sun. And that’s not a desired outcome.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are some hobbies that are generally looked down on but are not really problematic?
5·1 month agoYeah, when you say ‘I like watching YouTube’ sounds exactly like ‘I like watching Tiktok’.
You have to say it differently: I like to watch online learning content. :).
What are your to ho channels?

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What books have a lot of useful information should I get? (I mean like a Wikipedia thing with vast knowledge, but non-electronic.)
2·2 months agoIndeed :D no libraries = no healthcare. One broken bone over 60, you are done. Probably people could handle a rotten tooth…
So how do we make antibiotics at home? :D

4·2 months agoJust like books or AI chips.
There are some very well running commodore-s or amigas out there.
I think I’m set if my phone or electronics last that long from this decade. I only have 40 yrs to go - if I’m realistic:D

4·2 months agoThen I will go back to the pc I have now. :)

Any of the Ghibli movies? Have you seen the food they have? Aside of that joke …
It is really hard to decide. Marvel universe would be interesting because you just get superpowers basically by default.
None of the classic animes. They are too focused on the main characters to have any meaningful world building.
Star Trek during TNG is very chill for the masses. So that would be safe and interesting.
None of the SW bs, no Harry Potter neither… Maybe some Forgotten Realms stuff - probably after the Drizzt saga (i stooped reading after the 5k orcs books so probably arond there).
Dragonlance had a nice idillic world building. And they had dragons!
Very hard question, indeed!
