I wish I had a good answer. Unfortunately it’s on social media because people believe what they want to a lot of times. I was at a geology conference this one time presenting a poster and was approached by a seemingly nice gentleman. After hearing my spiel he starts lecturing me about how none of this is possible because the Earth is only 6 000 years old. A little bit later I actually got to meet a flat earther in person! The fact that those two people not only hold those beliefs but felt the need to go spread the word at a geology conference is quite confusing to me. When you compound the effects of social media algorithms a lot of people don’t stand a chance.

I’m with webghost. I have brand loyalty and brand hatred lists. Marketing people might generalize to oh you don’t know yourself, but there are lines I do not cross. Verizon is dead to me for example. I don’t care if no other providers are available I will never give them money again.

I was there for a good while too but got baited by someone who started spamming me with messages repeating the same questions on the same comments when I stopped responding. I eventually told them to fuck off and got shadow banned. I appealed, gave it a week and then deleted the account and the app. I’m done with them. They won’t even stand by their own decisions and explain what rule I violated. They basically brick your account without even telling you, it’s such a weird policy.

That’s a good way of putting it. It was such a hostile reaction to an innocent parental question like holy Batman.

I’m sure that made her feel much better. Leaking is awkward enough on its own. My husband has also received comments for being progressive at the grocery store because he was buying tampons lol. Hopefully it keeps being normalized. Basically half of humanity experiences it.

I agree with you. There are enough real trans issues out there without picking fights at innocent questions asked in good faith that are completely unrelated. Nowhere was there anything exclusionary in that post. If you look for negativity everywhere you’ll find it but you won’t make any friends and you probably won’t help your cause.
