Hey, I wear t-shirts over plaid sometimes. It’s not fashionable right now, but this is a little too judgemental.

Technology@lemmy.world•Android Sideloading: New Rules, Advanced Flow & What Users Need to Know (2026) - World Today JournalEnglish
68·4 days agoYou know what. Fuck Linda Park, fuck this ass-kissing Google loving article. “designed to protect users from malicious software and scams” and the article keeps this tone throughout. This is not about protecting users! It’s about tightening the grip on control of the app ecosystem.
Consider android authoritys article https://www.androidauthority.com/google-android-sideloading-unverified-apps-new-rules-3650343/
That at least has a little survey where you can express your take on this change
If you want a better perspective of the real impact of this for devs :

Technology@lemmy.world•Sam Altman's 'human verification' company thinks its eye-scanning orbs could solve ticket scalpingEnglish
24·10 days agoWhat a relief. As long as we are all tracked at all times by both government and corporations, we can finally be free of the burden of ticket scalping. It’s a small price to pay for this great reward. I think we can turn our attention toward solving other oppressive plagues like Jay walking and double parking now.

16·13 days agoTheir update server seems universally throttled. It should somehow selectively throttle, like default to a slow download but if the user is sitting right there and needs to use the damn laptop, allow a button to manually release throttling and download quickly.
I’ve had nothing but problems with win update. Since I’ve switched to the win10 alphabet version recently to get extended update support, update seems to fail and require manual download of update packages. It’s been a real pain.

They cut his fingers off. It’s definitely AI.
