That’s a mature attitude. There are people out there who are selfish lovers and won’t talk it out. I have known people with very specific issues and boundaries that created barriers. I have known people that were so sheltered that they didn’t know that their “normal” is incredibly strange, and probably a fringe kink for someone. Not everything can be negotiated.

This is not true for the people in arranged marriages that I’ve discussed the issue with. The men had not been sexually naive before the marriage. Women explained it as finally being able express affection so it was like a dam bursting into one person. They felt that sex was a critical ingredient to the marriage. Granted that has only been a handful of cases where that frank discussion took place, and it is only with a single cultural group, so you may have more extensive experience.

Not really. I feel like the artist stopped short when there is so much more to explore.

I block a lot, but it’s mostly sex stuff that I don’t want people seeing when I’m browsing from work. I learned this lesson from Talking Points Memo of all places.

A few years ago I was browsing their discussion forums and a picture of Donal Trump photoshopped onto an erect penis popped up. Unfortunately my executive director was walking in to ask a question. No real repercussions, but I block images on a lot of forums now. And if someone posts lewd anime or dick pics etc. that leak outside of the fedinfsw space then they are probably getting blocked.

I sleep 6 or 7. I used to sleep more 9-10 and it would drive my partners nuts. But as I’ve gotten older I find I tend to get up between 5 and 6 no matter what time I got to bed. Kind of sucks because I like to stay up late, but can no longer sleep in.

It won’t. At least not with that approach. You need to strengthen your feet and tendons. I know, you’re fit and you lift. But consider that a typical pace will have each foot hitting the ground 70-90 times a minute. Even at the lower end thats over 2000 foot strikes per side during your run. That will do damage so you need to work up to it.

Try 30 minutes of running for 2 minutes and walking for 1 three times a week. Every week increase the run by a minute. By the time you reach 8:1 you can choose to not stop. Pace should be easy, lime you can maintain a conversation.

After you can run for 30 minutes continuously 3 times a week without felling like death, you can get fancy with the training protocol. But the early weeks are the toughest because you feel like you can do more, but you should absolutely not.

Tore a muscle in my back. My vision whited out and I thought I was having a stroke. I couldn’t move without the world spinning so hard I wanted to vomit, but every muscle contraction was a new wave of pain.

Moving that cabinet turns out not to have been worth it. 2 years later and I can pretty much bend at the waist again so that’s nice.

Adding to this that anyone worth pitching does everything they can to avoid contact with unsolicited scripts. When they want one they grab one they’ve already optioned or go with established pros. So if the mailroom guy is your worry, then you’re already out of the running. And the mailroom guy won’t have any better luck with it anyways.

Formal matchmaking? Yes, several people. Their marriages are about the same as others, maybe slightly better due to strong social systems and clear expectations about roles. Every marriage waxes and wanes with how partners feel about each other, and the arranged ones aren’t any different in that respect.

Informal matchmaking? Lots. This has been the arrangement for much of human history. Consider them pre-vetted without the need to stalk their socials.

What’s the scale on the left? There are 11 tick marks between major divisions so I don’t think it’s feet. And none of the numbers look like a 3 or 4 and she’s not 7 feet tall.
