Well, China also is actively committing a genocide against their Muslim minority and invaded Tibet

1·5 days agoI guess gender is pretty much meaningless in my opinion. It probably should be abolished.
But also, it’s fine if people care about their own gender.
It’s not that big of a deal as people make it out to be.

2·5 days agoGender is a social construct and describes a certain way we choose to act and dress etc.
So it’s pretty much impossible to be wrong about your gender if you are honest about your ambitions. The only way I could see someone being “wrong” about their gender is if someone says they are a certain gender but deliberately chooses to act in accordance with another. But even then, the line is blurry, so it would be stupid to police, what “true” gender expression is supposed to be.

3·5 days agoIt really depends on the video game I guess. There are a lot of video games, I would consider high art, but there are others, I wouldn’t. That’s really subjective though and other people will probably consider other games as art than me.
But there is no way to objectively determine what art is. My personal definition is like I determine the gender of a person. If the artist says, it’s art, then it is art.

5·5 days agoI don’t know what the fuck you are talking about.
It’s still sold, so it definitely has a market value.
If you are talking about sociatal value, then I disagree even more firmly. Art has a lot of value, regardless of what medium it is delivered by.
You know that movies and video games are digital art, right?

Can’t be stealing if I don’t make money from it, right?
In my life, why do I give valuable time to people who don’t care if I live or die?

Well, if you know that your comment is wrong, why not delete it?
Anarchists are vehemently opposed to states such as the USSR and China. We consider them to be as great a danger as fascism.
Yes, apparently reading is hard

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do people get progressively less happy as they age?English
1·7 days agoI think that you have a lot of agency over how you live your life and what you do, which has a huge impact on your happiness.
There is no general answer here, just try to do more things that you know are good for you and make you happy. Eat healthier, stay reasonably fit, get a good and consistent sleep cycle (this has a huge hormonal impact on your happiness). Enjoy good art, make meaningful connections, if you are angry about the state of the world, try to revolt.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do people get progressively less happy as they age?English
21·7 days agoThe question is, if this is correlation or causation. Maybe some people just do less things, that make them happy as they age? Doesn’t mean that you are gonna be unhappy.
Also, this is an average and I imagine, that there is a very high variance among different people. A lot of people may very well get progressively, happier as they age.
I would say, that happiness comes very much down to how you live your life, how you view the world and what you do.
If you have a job, that makes you happy and good relationships and stuff like that, you are probably gonna be happy regardless of your age.

33·7 days agoThere is no empirical way to measure happiness, just because a paper says so doesn’t mean, that it’s objectively correct
Also the buttons on the golden panel over the toilet (that are typically used to flush) are way smaller, than they are supposed to be

So if you are really that into it, just pirate it.
