Another perspective, it’s ONLY FOUR buttons? It’s emulating a computer, surely there are games that require more keyboard support. You could play a C64 emulator on a Nintendo DS, and you would still get the same form factor, the same button layout, the right screen ratio, AND a virtual keyboard on the lower screen.

Other than the form factor, why is this needed? There are tons of cheap linux handhelds that play these games. And if you like the form factor, there have been C64 and ZX emulators for the Nintendo DS for ages. Emulators that are old enough to drive at this point. I mean, if the price point was closer to $40, I could see it. $60 would be pushing it.

Yeah, pretty much. Mechanical engineer, but on the tooling side of things and not production. When shit hits the fan, it’s typically during office hours. Honestly, I haven’t even charged my work phone in probably 6 months because it’s so rare anybody needs me when I’m not at my computer.

But my personal phone is always on silent, too. Not even vibrate. To the irritation of my wife.

I prefer to have dumb, discrete devices in near all cases. TV, appliances, bulbs AND switches. Watches (mechanical only, please). I don’t connect any game consoles to the internet. I can’t think of any devices that actually need “smart” features.

I have the opposite thing going on. I want to do everything myself, and kinda resent it when people offer to help or give adviced if I didn’t ask. I want control over the things I do. Probably because my mom was a bit of a helicopter mom.

I’d say it is a little intimidating to do things the first time, but there’s a first time for everything you do, and it will eventually become normal to you.

Oh, interesting! I’ve never heard of such a thing. I have a Nanopresso for at work, but it makes such a tiny amount it’s purely for caffeine and not enjoyment. I want to get the double shot kit for it, but I have seen a lot of bad reviews for it. All the office provides are Keurigs, but plastic waste aside, they taste like watery ass.
