Had that zit on his neck not popped at the worst possible time
Yeah I’m a real person, the name is just a reference to getting banned on Reddit many times, and then getting banned immediately across several discuss.online communities for hurting a mod’s feelings. I guess if it’s going to happen, might as well ask for it.

OMG is this accurate.
I have quit all of my vices, from meth to cigarettes, and finally did away with weed.
Now I like who I am without weed - less anxiety, more in control, more ambitious, etc.
But I like being high almost more than that.
So I guess I’m going to buy a bag of weed once a month or something, get the best of both worlds? Or the worst IDK
I’m just too tired and busy. I had 4 tabs of acid in my psychedelic cupboard. Someone gave me more, now I have 7. One of these years I’ll get away and trip my balls off in a forest, but it’s not this year.

7·14 days agoAstonishing how often I see someone start swatting at a paper wasp when it gets curious.
The fuck? It’s like a dog smelling you, but that dog has a stinger. You don’t swat at the fucking thing. You chill out and act real casual. Maybe pretend you didn’t even notice it. What wasp? I didn’t see any wasps. Now check my back so we can get our asses inside.

9·14 days agoYay came here for this. I was all excited to start a couple of beehives in my back yard. Then I discovered their lineage and what they’re doing to the native bees. Instead I realized I am hosting tons of huge ass bumblebees in my yard, and I’ll just let them be(e). Maybe get some of those bee houses for solitary bees instead.

1·15 days agoAnyone else find it weird when there’s a pic of a hot guy showing his wanger, but he’s obviously in his kids room, or their toys are all over the bathtub? Like, we can assume you’re a DILF without needing to know their actual favorite Marvel characters. Anyway. Amateur porn always a bit weird.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Would you keep seeing a doctor that required to you agree to the use of AI in your treatment to continue being a patient?
4·16 days agoJust tell them you don’t want it and they will almost certainly accommodate. Most therapists are still trying to get a sense of the tool and how their patients will feel about it, they won’t be looking to fire patients over it.
I’ve been looking at the SimplePractice tool as I am IT guy for a couple of therapy clinics, plus my own therapist wanted a guinea pig. I am not thrilled by the terms of service, which allow the company to do whatever they want internally with your data. But the tool is legit useful for therapists (it’s to help them justify your ongoing care to your insurance company, who wants specifics on the how but not the what you’re discussing. The therapist winds up reviewing the summarization before it’s sent to the insurance company. It won’t affect your care. The LLM is supposed to be HIPAA compliant, but I am really curious about how that works.
I am looking more at on-device models for the future. Notetaking is a big burden for therapists, who often wind up keeping multiple versions of your notes: one for you (you have the right to request them), one for insurance which is coded to their treatment plans, one for the court or judge if there’s a divorce or other proceeding involved. One for the parent if it’s a teenager. So a tool like this has the real power to cut back on a therapist’s weekend admin time. There’s just no reason it can’t be a local model. A Mac Mini sitting in the corner, with a mic input switch for clients who don’t want it on.

8·16 days agoIt’s worth researching a therapist’s credentials, some states allow “pastoral counseling degrees” and so on to be a path to “mental health therapist.” You want LISW, a licensed social worker. I’m not saying there aren’t weirdos, or that your experience wouldn’t happen with a social worker… just that many folks don’t realize some therapists went to theology classes instead of psychology classes, which is a prime setup for problems.

Technology@lemmy.world•Senators Ask Tulsi Gabbard To Tell Americans That VPN Use Might Subject Them To Domestic SurveillanceEnglish
2·17 days agoYes, but with hundreds of millions of people online, they still need ways to cut and sift the data as they identify… well the “demographics” they want. So using a VPN might make you stand out as more technologically included, or more likely to be hiding something. Either way things they might like to know as they build profiles on all Americans.
I’m surprised they’re not just buying the data but it’s nice that our taxpayers are footing the bill either way for this little service.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Save me from going down a dark path
14·18 days agoAA taught me to pray to myself, because I am the only god (creative force) who is along for the journey in my headspace. It’s actually incredibly effective. Determination setting. We use the word “god” a lot and get so caught up in what it must mean according to large groups, and we lose focus on what it means on an individual scale, which is where recovery happens.
The tip is to find a group full of angry atheists because then you get to use the whole hour unpacking religious trauma and bashing the church while you reclaim these words for yourself - “god,” that’s your word.
