That’s the take of someone who doesn’t understand belief.
Trying my hardest to be civil in this uncivilised world.

That’s the take of someone who doesn’t understand belief.

I haven’t since Facebook, and I stopped using it in 2011-12. Nothing to do with morals or idk digital know-how, I’m just very easily triggered by people spouting half-baked, often morally disgusting opinions, and I’d rather not get my day ruined finding out a person I had partied with and gotten along fine was actually either very dumb or very evil. At least on Reddit/Lemmy/the chans idk the person so the emotional impact is lessened. 🙃

None, actually. And we had a lot of sleep deprived nights out in the open too! I’m very religious but not at all superstitious, and I would be if I had any supernatural experiences (or I’d cry cause my mind is breaking and I’m going schizo, lol) but it just hasn’t happened to me.

It’s expected. “Oooh girl here, ooga booga, and she’s horny and irreverent, just like us” 🙄

I don’t agree with his takes but I do enjoy his history memes (even if I’m a bit tired of hearing about people’s obsession with the Roman empire, lol), they have surprisingly taught me a lot.

I’d say liberal encompasses more than just “right wing” politics but yeah, that’s kinda what I was referring to. 👍

It’s beyond my understanding, realistically, and perhaps that’s for the best. I assume everything will just become radically pricier… but, hey, I’m in the West so at least I’m not getting bombed as well. 🙃

Yes. Not just in social media either, it starts at search engines. I have a feeling that it’s not just arbitrary nor generalized to every field but something purposeful and in line with current liberal Western narratives.

An argument? Not necessarily. This doesn’t happen to me when discussing things that have nothing to do with my own feelings but I know sometimes people get agitated and cannot think and express themselves clearly. Now, if after thinking about it again and again, maybe even after having discussed it with someone I find wise and deep, I can’t seem to find flaws in their argument and what they’re saying just makes sense, then yeah. Else I would be unwise and irrational and that’s for lesser men, right?

Money-worshippers. 🤷

If the culture/ideology allows for it, certainly. Evidently there’s enough to go around, it’s just concentrated in 3-4 cunts who have never known what working is, and many others don’t mind because they don’t want it to stop, they just wanna be on top.

Finding purpose.

This almost feels like ragebait and I don’t know how to reply, lol.

They’re all amoral, hedonistic, self-centered, sociopathic freaks. But then again, why wouldn’t they be?
I can judge how the wind feels on my face, doesn’t mean I’m obsessed with it. And one can think someone is morally upright/prosocial/nice and still think they’re doing something trashy, it’s not so all or nothing like that. But okay.

Usually but not always. Sometimes it’s just a matter of perspective. I understand though (maybe it’s my own neurodivergence, although I’m an ADHD enjoyer social butterfly), and in those cases I just say nothing and nod if needed, lol. For me, the truth is something I discuss with those ready for it, for adults I respect (in the absence of trauma, ofc, some things are better left unsaid if all they’re gonna do is cause pain), everyone else gets the kid’s gloves treatment, which I don’t mind providing since I’m somewhat paternalistic in nature.
?
He’s just quickly sharing something he dislikes that crossed his mind, not going on a five-page rant about the German stare or crocs. Is that your reaction to anything that isn’t “nice”? To each their own, I guess, but I enjoy my two minutes of (very soft) hate here and there…
Getting too emotional, positively or negatively, about any sports team you don’t have a real personal connection to (as in, your dad founded it, your brother plays in it, something like that, not just “well I was born in Shitstreak so I’m a proud Shitstreaker!”) or that you haven’t bet any money on. Additionally, betting money on sports or any sort of gambling, which can go from trashy and desperate to degenerate and pathological.

People in general dislike anything that might inconvenience them, the truth included. Effective communication lies in one’s ability to make them understand despite these emotional barriers (with techniques like the “compliment sandwich”, “I feel” statements or opening with some light jokes, for example). 👍
SW is a shadow of Dune (and a Vietnam war allegory?) with as much substance as one, and they stretched that nothingness way too much with new movies and shows of the IP. Old Trek had, at least, a pro-life, hopeful, morally upright vibe to it, so it gets my vote. 👍
