I believe Jovovich’s character in the movie Two Moon Junction was also big into new AI memory techniques, so this works.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why is the RAM crisis happening even through AI datacenters use a type of RAM that isn't found on consumer hardware?
4·3 days agoThe actual explanation is much simpler.
Came here to write “kidney stones,” and yours was the only other mention. Gallstones hurt to a similar degree, but as they move in and out, you get some relief from the pain.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Would it be silly of me to get a small dog if I am a little afraid of bigger ones?
5·5 days agoNature and nurture both have important roles in dog behavior. I’m a shitty dog owner, because I put little effort into training my dogs to behave well. I have still had dogs that were very well behaved and those that were poorly behaved. A lot of it comes from the dog itself, and then the owner can make that dog much worse or better with deliberate effort.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why do people keep having biological kids when there are so many needing care without a home in a orphanage or even worse out in the streets?
1·5 days agoWouldn’t that help to save the dying planet much faster than your idea of having humans go extinct in the next generation? Shouldn’t the highest good be more suffering for humans (evil) and less for animals, only a few of which only adopt, typically in rare circumstances?

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•When you send old camcorder cassettes to a digitising service, do they watch the contents?
11·6 days agoThey usually just look at what kind of locks and security you have around your house, in case they want to murder your whole family later in an attempt to transform into a William Blake painting.
When they see your video is from many years ago, they’ll figure the intel is outdated and not watch any more.
when he [Sean Combs] got arrested she took off to Europe out of fear of being involved trying to claim it was because of Trump.
I could have been more clear. I am already familiar with the “treated staff poorly” allegations. It’s this wild one about she moved to Europe to escape her connections to Diddy that doesn’t ring true.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•For those of you with a living room or multiple rooms; do you have a TV in your bedroom? Why or why not?
2·6 days agoMaybe give some money to the poor before buying a second TV. Otherwise, a Sherpa might poison you for your hubris.

I figured the search would reveal a ton of trashy celebrity rag stories, and it would take some time to see whether more reliable news stories would support any such contentions. Since the original commenter believed the allegations, perhaps that person already had some strong sources in mind.
The ridiculous part of this is that Ellen would have fled to Europe to avoid prosecution or connection to sex trafficking by P. Diddy. I am already aware of the “treated staff poorly” allegations, and they are all over this thread.
Going and researching other people’s ridiculous claims is often a waste of time. Do I need to research whether NASA actually went to the moon or if there is an ice wall at Antarctica that holds the oceans in?
I just wasted 5 minutes looking at the allegations about Ellen fleeing to Europe, and it looks like they may have been started by Elon Musk. Should I also investigate whether a diver helping rescue a trapped soccer team in Thailand is a pedophile or Barrack Obama’s birth certificate?

From the comments I’ve read, people seem concerned with how unimportant labels are, amd that people should be free to label themselves.
The problem here is not what OP wants to call herself or whether there are black and white labels that apply to her situation. The problem is that there are communities based around such labels where people are expected to conform to what the community considers the label to mean. This causes issues because the nature of the community is to include some people and exclude others.
Where “people are fluid” and “labels are arbitrary” causes conflicts is exactly in these kinds of situations where people must fall inside a category in order to participate. The debate about transgender athletes is only a concern because there are sporting events limited to women only. Now you need to decide who is a woman and who is not. TERFs object to people who they categorize as men trying to co-opt the feminist movement.
Take away the requirement to meet others’ definition of who can participate in the group, and you can now accept that people are not always easy to categorize by rigid labels.

5·10 days agoAre fertility rates really a problem caused by microplastics? There are people who want to have kids who can’t, but the ones who are young are a small percentage of people.
The two things with the most overwhelming influence on fertility rates is the willingness of people to have children and their access to birth control.
