The thing with the OT is that if you mentally replace James Earl Jones’ Vader voice with Hayden Christensen’s it all works perfectly. Vader’s imposing nature came entirely from the suit and the voice; deep down he was still just a kid whining about sand.
Ehh… I always had the impression that judicious Force use and guidance got Palpatine to where he was. In charge of the weapon of planetary destruction.

And Vader didn’t use the force to stop them!
Maybe he couldn’t sense Han coming in for the assist because Luke’s aura was too strong. 🤔
