      Not really. “Aproverchar” means more like “I have this things that I would normally throw out but I will used for X instead”. You wouldn’t say “I had some left over chicken so I appreciated it to make corquetas”.

          It’s not quite that either. The spanish word for “appropriate” is “apropiar”, and the meaning is the same. Aprovechar has a different meaning.
