I thought my parents’ cooking was great, until I grew up and started cooking myself, and discovered I had a talent for it. Now I realize my parents couldn’t cook at all.
Now life is reversed, and I’m taking care of my Mom (Dad’s gone), and I do ALL the cooking.
I still despise onions though. That wasn’t my Mom’s cooking, I just despise onions. And green peppers.
It isn’t about growing up, onions just taste terrible to some people, the way cilantro or asparagus tastes bad to some. I know a guy who is fine with onions, but feels the way I feel toward them about CUCUMBERS, of all things. They basically taste like water, but he can’t stand to be in the same room with one.
