but actually, the best way to get a job is not applying online. it’s asking the adults in your life if they know anyone who would be interested in hiring you.

No, but like, I didn’t buy the tv I have in the living room. My mom forced it on me. It doesn’t have a cable package and I rarely turn it on. There’s no reason to throw it away, but if it were up to me, I probably would have no tv at all. Kind of a 20th century appliance.

Someone announced that there was an error with the bar exam, and February testers would have to re-take. I’m not even there yet but the horror I felt.

in general, investing in land is for the rich/gamblers. no reason to do that versus the stock market for the average person.

Generally, isolation makes it cost-prohibitive to invest in a place. The extra distance adds cost. The lower population density reduces returns. If you look at Iceland, Northern Russia, Madagascar, island nations, these places tend to get left behind relative to dense population centers. You can mitigate conflict with cooperation and sound policy. You can’t mitigate the basic costs of doing business.

People do go to the Caribbean and Mexico, because they are within close travel distance. Most Americans could not afford a transatlantic vacation. You can take your whole family to Florida for a week just on the cost you’d spend on airfare going to Europe. It’s like $1000 per person per flight, 12 hour+ flight, 8+ hour time difference. A $10,000+ vacation is really not in the average American’s budget.

Children are not particularly discriminating consumers. They’ll watch pretty much anything shiny that you put in front of them, because they don’t know any better. A moderately well written film to an adult will literally be “the best thing” a teen has ever seen. When you catch a teen’s interest early, they’ll probably continue be interested in your brand for the next 10-20 years, at least. That money adds up. The attention they get from sharing everything with each other adds up.

Adults need to be impressed, and even then their interest will be moderated. It’s a lot harder to make something a lot of adults are excited about.
