I mean, it is way too small, but has four legs and two visible ears, so there’s that. But still, though.

It itched for several seconds, so me dousing the ant hill in petrol and lighting it up was just the rational thing to do.
The US stereotype were created by the internet giving people like this a voice to be heard outside of their family.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you think there's too much emphasis in popular media on working your ass off?
01·4 days agoIt seems to be a very common thing in the US, and some around here takes to it from social media, but most people are to busy prioritising life to jump into such a depressing mindset.
I remember prices in that area 25 years ago.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What do you keep in your pockets and which pocket do you keep them in?
3·16 days agoPhone in right back pocket or inner jacket pocket. Left front pocket, snus, if I don’t have a jacket left pocket for it. Right front pocket, apartment keys and lip balm. Earplugs in right jacket pocket. And if I’m going for a breakfast or lunch at a café, reading pad in inner left pocket.
What? Never had it growing up, so didn’t try it before I moved down south to study. Love it. And still fascinated is all the names for it.
That’s not too bad! In Norway it is between £2-3. But most bus cards have been lowered from April, so there are some light points around.
“Ambulance fees” are the most dystopian words I’ve seen in a long time.
Haven’t used bills since my last grand parent died years ago.

You are right, it is a US specific distinction, hence why I needed to ask. In Norway and Europe we have charitable organisations, US nonprofit, and interest organisations, US not-for-profit, The difference between them are somewhat similar, but less formalised here.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Do boys who had affectionate mothers growing up become more "gentle"?
4·24 days agoMy mother was in no way, shape or form an affectionate mother for me growing up. But I have several times in my life heard that I am unusually calm, patient and pleasant to be with, so I guess one can avoid being shaped too much of ones upbringing if life is humbling enough in other ways.

I live by the mantra “life is too short not to be able to laugh at it.” and focus on enjoying life.
I catch up on news, but it’s so bad, how can you not enjoy having a laugh at how stereotypical of a sci-fi extinction we are heading towards?
