Who here is acting “tuff”? It seems more like it’s you than anyone else.

Personally, for me, I’ve paid attention to it some, but not followed it closely. I think a lot of it is just that I understand it so well and have seen it all before. I love KSP (and KSA is looking great!), and have played it with the real solar system mods. The launch looks better than the game, but everything after the game does better. It can look better (their renders are surprisingly shit still), and I can actually control it.

I love space information and technology, but this is just one more step in it. I can’t follow everything. It’s great that it’s happening, but there’s also a ton more research being done that I don’t even know about. This, while impressive and good, isn’t something new.

I watched the launch after it happened at 2x speed and saw some parts of the descent. My phone wallpaper has been set t9 pictures they took. I’m just not that interested in following it live. I know what to expect, and I’ll hear about it if anything unexpected happens.

I can understand why, but it’s sad that he’s stopped using the song that he always used to use. Everyone else started copying the format and doing the same thing though, so him stopping doing a thing that made him stand out actually makes him stand out now.

IIRC, it’s actually based on donkeys, or something like that. Basically, this is just misleading marketing once again.

The last bit was there to say there’s no reason for this to be a question, except for people who hold that opinion. I agree, it doesn’t really make sense. I would mostly group them in with the bigots.

I find this is a weird question. Everyone is going to be different. If the person is straight, then obviously they’re going to be more attracted to someone who presents on the feminine side. It’s all personal preference though.

As a straight man, I prefer my women to be more towards the tomboy side of things usually. I like really feminine looking women too, but I find the ones I’m most attracted towards look feminine but present more towards the masculine side.

Obviously all these terms are made up though. I would say anyone who isn’t a bigot would date a non-binary person if they match what they want. Genitals are obviously part of this, but presentation is made up. Your presentation just has to be something they like. If they like it then tbey like it. It shouldn’t be more complex than that. Someone being non-binary has nothing to do with that.

All this said, personality is obviously important. Someone can be attracted to you and not like your personality. I guess someone could not like the personality of people who are non-binary?

This is why I don’t get why adults play Pokémon. Even as a young child playing the original Pokémon, without any guides or any other resources, I was able to trivially make a party where I didn’t have to think. I just spam one move and win. I know you can optimize the hell out of the games, but there’s zero need to outside multiplayer. I thought the games were really fun as a child, partially because of a lack of options and partially because it’s made for children. I know people in their 30s who still play them when they release though. It’s so confusing to me.

There’s a lot of types of sex. Every one of them has a name. Even the “default” of PIV sex has a name.

After they fix the errors, sure. Alternatively, with the group we watch would be nice. Before they fix the problems, and everyone is tortured by demons for eternity? I’ll pass.

Maybe, if this includes traveling to the future where the shoes mostly take place. Right now, in their universe, things aren’t exactly going too well.

I think they’ve got a number of drawbacks, so that’s why. IIRC they have a low refresh rate, and they’re pretty pricy. For this application, where it’s a small screen and you only need the one, and you’ll only refresh it rarely, it makes sense though.

Even that, a dedicated player can capture it. If it has to be rendered on the device then they have access to the assets.

Although that still never totally protects it. I’ve seen a fair few number of passionate game communities bring online-only games back from the dead by reverse engineering the server architecture. It’s a lot of work, but if you know how the software is supposed to function then you can write the other half of the software that gives the response to make that work.

With an impact like this, it’s probably more correct to say that the impact of Thea and Earth formed two bodies, that we now call Earth and Luna (the moon). Earth has a lot fo Thea and the thing formerly known as Thea has a lot of Earth. They basically become two liquids impacting and swirling around. The cores are largely the same, but the sarfaces are a bit of a mix.

In concept, maybe. At the end of the day though, it’s not that useful. Unless the NFT contains the full game file, who’s hosting it? That host could just have a key that’s attached to your account, which you can sell. Valve supports trading items on Steam without NFTs.

NFTs would be useful for something like a deed to a house. It contains the paperwork, and is backed up with an agreement from a bank or something. For digital items? It’s more hype than actual utility. Once you get to implementation, it just ends up being a storefront that supports trading, which doesn’t require NFTs.

Have you ever walked past a janitor or security person and heard their keys rattling? I don’t think I have, and they typically have a lot of keys. Unless they’re bumping into something, they should all swing as a single unit. It shouldn’t really be an issue.

I didn’t say it did. I just said it’s more useful for that. Whether it was on purpose or not, 100 and 0 are when it’s dangerous. Before those it can still be, but beyond them you really need to be careful.

Celsius is also arbitrary. There’s no particular reason water, at sea level, is used for the scale. It was just chosen. If you’re measuring water, it’s great. Otherwise, there’s nothing that makes it “better” than F. It’s not easier to convert to scale to higher or lower numbers or anything, which is what the metric system usually has an advantage with. They’re both just scales.

I’ve been playing Stationeers a lot lately. (It’s a game about managing a station on another planet, and simulates liquids and gasses really well, following the ideal gas law, and phase changes, and all that good stuff. I highly recommend it, and the devs are great.) In that you use Celsius and Kelvin, with you often needing kK or even larger. It wouldn’t make sense to use F, because it’s hard to switch between F and K, but C and K are the same, with K just being 274.15 higher. I have no issue with C, but this type of use is the one place it’s better, and no one I know would ever have to do this.

I have no idea, but I suspect geothermal cooling doesn’t work as well at this scale. I suspect heat in the ground spreads far slower than the air moves. Since these are running 24/7, this means it’ll reach an elevated equilibrium temperature that will be higher than if a residential house did it. I guess if the footprint is large enough it’d be fine, but that’s probably really expensive.

For temperature, not really. Both Celsius and Fahrenheit are useful for different things.

Fahrenheit is great for what we feel (it’s related to body temperature for the high end, and the freezing point of brine on 0).

Celsius is great for cooking, or applications where you care about what water is doing (0 is freezing, 100 is boiling).

Neither uses different scales, like other metric units increasing by 10s (at least, I’ve never seen anything like kC). If you’re doing that, you’re using Kelvin, which is a fundamental base temperature, where 0 is actually 0, which makes more sense for physics and math, but is less useful for what we feel.

I think the US should switch, just to make it easier to communicate, and other metric scales actually are better. C and F are both equally useful for different things though. Neither is actually a better scale.
