  • For a show based on deduction, it did not end up with airtight logic that closes all the holes in the plot in my casual opinion. I mostly dislike the multiple universes being separate thing that the show pulled in the last minute without explaining why there was no Setsu / Yuri / Manan in the universe they went to, or why the universe didn’t end otherwise due to duplicate persons existing.

They also left some things unexplored like the relationship between Gnos and Gnosia.

Perhaps if someone rewatch it enough times they would be able to come up with some theory that is logically consistent and explains everything, but it will probably not be proof-able with only information contained in the anime.

That said, I enjoyed the ride a lot and as I said earlier, I am glad they didn’t forget Kukrushka’s plot line and even made it relevant to the solution. The show did not meet my highest hope to become a masterpiece of time loop Sci-Fi but it did not screw up the ending badly and disappoint either. I applaud the crew of the show for being able to make an entertaining series out of a game mechanic.

I still have questions that went unanswered though e.g. why did Manan/Kukrushka went on rampage that one time, but not in any other loops?

I interpret it as Manan’s personality breaking due to a flawed transfer (which she mentioned was a risk) that only happens in some loops (similar to Yuri being female in some loops), but I’m not sure if it is right as she was behaving fine in this episode after the transfer. Perhaps she was just herself, but decide to have fun for one of her loops as she has many, many loops to play with.

  • Yuriko with a new costume! I forgot, did she run away from the cult or was she just happened to be visiting Liu-An? Did the cult welcome Yuri because he was made by the Gnos or they just cyberize everyone who volunteers?

Jonas: Hey, I didn’t get my fight with the Hoshibune!

Raqio came up with a solution. I’m not sure what cyberization accomplishes, Yuri still wakes up in a physical body and Real-Yuri was nowhere to be seen in the loops.

But I noticed Real-Yuri didn’t show up until Yuriko told Yuri he was a bug. So I guess perhaps being cyberized once opens up the possibility of Cyber-Yuri, who can coexist with Real-Yuri if he/she shows up?

  • Yuri is the visual novel player that have found all the bad ends and the good end but is trying to play once again because they believe they can reach the True End.

Something bugs me: previously each loop were different timelines, so when last episode Setsu went through the portal, I thought they were just going to a different loop / timeline.

Timelines (loops) themselves are separate enough that real-Yuri gotten erased by gnosia in one loop is enough to have bug-Yuri exist in it stably, without real-Yuri existing in other loops affecting the current loop.

But they seemed to make a distinction here that Setsu went to a different universe which supposedly is totally disconnected to the one we are currently in, and impossible for Setsu to return to and pass on the silver key to past-Yuri.

Or am I reading this totally wrong?
